Ademola Lookman tops the list for Leicester City’s goal of the month

Ademola Lookman’s blistering end to the year 2021 has earned him a double nomination for the Leicester City's Goal of the Month award for December 2021.

The lethal strike scored in back-to-back Premier League games against Manchester City and Liverpool and the two goals has been shortlisted.

Aside from the pair of strikes from Lookman, eight others have also been nominated for Leicester City's Goal of the Month.

The club has enjoined their fans to choose the best goal from the ten that was shortlisted.

Eight players have been nominated for the award with in-form midfielder James Maddison also twice making the shortlist, while Harvey Barnes, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Patson Daka, Youri Tielemans, Ethan Fitzhugh and  Sophie Howard are also in contention for the accolade.

Against Manchester City on Boxing Day, Lookman reduced the deficit to 4-2 just before the hour mark when he slotted home under pressure after he was set up by compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho.

Three days later, he made a huge contribution coming from the bench to score fourteen minutes into the second half against Liverpool.

The RB Leipzig loanee weaved his way into the area before firing past Alisson at his near post to seal a memorable 1-0 win over Liverpool.

Lookman was included in Nigeria's provisional squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations but did not make the final cut.

According to the NFF, this is largely because the striker has not yet been cleared by FIFA to represent Nigeria.
