After Victor Osimhen personally reassured fans that there was no reason to worry about his limp, Napoli confirmed he is back in full training ahead of the Champions League trip to Eintracht Frankfurt.

The first leg of that Round of 16 tie kicks off on Tuesday at 20.00 GMT in Germany.

Osimhen found the net in Friday’s 2-0 Serie A victory away to Sassuolo and then limped off following a knock.

He already assured fans on social media that there was nothing to worry about and it was only a bruise.

That is now confirmed, as Napoli released a statement noting that Osimhen took part in the full training session with the rest of the squad.

It means Luciano Spalletti has a full list of players to choose from going into the Champions League showdown.

The Partenopei are 15 points clear at the top of the Serie A table and won all but one of their Champions League group games, losing only to Liverpool once top spot had been locked down.

Meanwhile, former Sassuolo striker Alessandro Noselli has said that Osimhen is almost on par with Erling Haaland while praising Luciano Spalletti’s influence on the Nigerian.

The Napoli attacker is deemed to be one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe at the moment and has been heavily linked with a sensational move to Manchester United.

United manager Erik Ten Hag is said to be a big fan of the African star as he continues to monitor his striker options in the transfer market.

Osimhen currently has 18 Serie A goals in 19 games this season, with Noselli claiming that the 24-year-old has Spalletti to thank for his upward trajectory.

“Osimhen is very close to Haaland, Spalletti made him what he is now even though he has the characteristics and desire of a great striker,” Noselli told Napoli Magazine, as per Soccernet.

“Finding yourself in a situation like this year gives you a crazy boost. We also hope for the rest of the next few years that Osimhen will stay in Naples as much as possible.

“Osimhen gives Napoli that extra something in terms of quality, to try and win the Scudetto.

“Having an offensive department that gives you that little bit extra on a general level makes you do well.”
