Super Eagles and former Leicester City loanee Ademola Lookman has taken to social media to share a post amid increased talk over where he will be playing his football next season.

The Nigeria international spent last season on loan at the King Power Stadium, where he scored eight times in 42 appearances in all competitions. His most memorable goal of the campaign came in the unlikely 1-0 home win over Liverpool, when City were hit by injuries.

His performances led to suggestions that City could look to make his move permanent this summer. It was said that the loan deal with Red Bull Salzburg included a purchase option of around £14 million.

But transfer business at the King Power Stadium has been slow so far, with City looking to move players out of the club before completing incoming transfers. In part, it’s due to the size of the squad, with midfielder Papy Mendy being left out of the Premier League squad for the first half of last season after City reached the limit of players over the age of 21.

The transfer priorities for the summer will see City target a central defender, right winger and an attacking midfielder. A permanent deal for Lookman fell into the second priorities for the summer window.

But it now seems that a move back to the King Power Stadium will not be taking place this summer. Reports this week claim that Lookman is now closing in on a move to Italian side Atalanta.
