NPFL: Insurance overcome Enyimba to end first stanza unbeaten

Bendel Insurance defeated Enyimba by 1-0 on Sunday evening to end the first half of the league unbeaten. 

Imade Osarenkhoe's lone strike decided the op of the day fixture as the people's  Elephants were stopped at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium. 

The victory pushed Bendel Insurance points to aul to 23 points having won 7 of their matches and drawing the remaining two matches to stay on top of the login group A. 

The Benin Arsenal is in a pole position to make the Super Six though there are still nine matches to go when the second stanza resumes after the general election.

Other matches on matchday nine saw Lobi Stars consolidate on their lead in Group B with a two-nil victory over Doma United in Markurdi. 

Shooting Stars of Ibadan held Akwa United to a 2-2 draw while Bayelsa United and Rangers International settled for a share of the spoils in Yenagoa after playing a 1-1. 

Sunshine Stars and Niger Tornadoes took the maximum three points by beating 1-0, Wikki Tourists and Dakkada respectively. 

On Monday, Gombe United will host Plateau United as Nassarawa takes on Remo Stars too by 4 pm.
