It was a huge relief for the Rivers State team after going down by 3-0 last week away to Diable Noirs in Congo, as today's result gets the team back on track to qualifying out of the group.

But the Ivorians came all out gun blazing looking for an equalizer, throwing everything in their arsenal but all to naught as Rivers United extended their lead as Ukeme Williams flashes a shot inside the net, finishing the good work started by Nyima Nwagua who lays the pass for the homeboy to fire the volley in the 41st minutes to end the first half with a comfortable 2-0.

Rivers United started the second half just the way they started the first half, as dasi Kadiang Denis heads in beautifully from a corner kick three minutes after the restart to take their score line to a comfortable 3-0 at the 48 minutes.

No more goals whereas scored as both sides took their leg off the pedal witcaregiversrs United now has 3 points and zero goals difference.
