Bendel Insurance got to a flying start as they demolished Akwa United 2-0 in the 2023 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) opener.
The match which was played at the magnificent Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo saw the University of Benin graduate, Imade Osehenkhoe scores the first goal of the game which happened to be the first game of the season in the 37th minute.
Ismael Seriki made it two in the 43rd minute as the away team went into the dugout with their head high.
The second half was goalless as the homers threw everything into their attack all to no avail as the Benin Arsenal kept their composure to earn a massive three points away from home as the 2023 NPFL finally kicked off after several months of break-filled preseason matches with plenty of issues off the pitch.
