Champions League: Marquinhos confident PSG will beat Dortmund on Tuesday

The Paris Saint-Germain captain is aware of what he and his teammates need to produce to defeat Borussia Dortmund and reach the UEFA Champions League final.

Said Marquinhos "We motivated each other, we picked ourselves up immediately after the first leg. We talked a lot straight after the game. The coach also gave us his thoughts and we took the time to analyse the performance. The coach knows how to prepare this kind of game. I've been here 11 years and it's my third Champions League semi-final. You love having the opportunity to play a game like this one."

"Dortmund are great opponents, it'll be a very tough game. We don't know what is going to happen during the game, but we have faith in the work we have done all season long, faith in our preparation, and in our fans to help us. It's thanks to those things that we have faith in our chances tomorrow. Now is not the time when we are going to change everything or begin to doubt ourselves."

Speaking about the team game plan Marquinhos said "We have our strategy that we'll put in place. We have to play our way, the way we have been doing since the start of the season. We're going to try and create chances, and then it'll be the details that make the difference. We have talked a lot, and everyone is ready to put in a great performance to win it."

He called on the supporters to get behind the team"We know the importance of playing at home, with our fans, our energy. The fans can change a game. They help give us the motivation and energy we need. In Paris, there's a passion for football, and I know we'll feel that again tomorrow."

"Against Barcelona, we stayed calm even after they opened the scoring. A game can last 90 or 120 minutes. We have to be ready emotionally to face any situation and have confidence in our game. I think that is what helped us in Barcelona. Even when we conceded, we continued with the same idea of how to play. The coach's words, the leaders in the dressing room...all that helps. You feel the club changing and growing more and more."
