Man Utd plans to tempt Madrid with €200m for Vinicius as Adidas wants €130 million- German star to join Real

Real Madrid appears to be on the verge of ending a long-running transfer saga and bringing Kylian Mbappe to Santiago Bernabeu when his PSG contract runs out next summer and he becomes a free agent. Some outlets have even gone as far as to suggest that an agreement is already in place between the two parties.

There have already been rumours that Real Madrid were ready to part ways with Vinicius Junior if or when Mbappe arrived.

As reported by Defensa Central, Manchester United are pondering a €200 million move for Vinicius. Whether Real Madrid will agree to part with the Brazilian international remains the question, but the Premier League club are prepared to show ambition in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Vinicius is one of the most important players at Real Madrid and has been for several seasons now. But it would be interesting to see where he would fit in Carlo Ancelotti's plans if Mbappe did arrive.

Both Mbappe and Vinicius are similar types of players. Both have shown the ability to play centrally but are believed to prefer being on the left flank.

Under such circumstances, if a transfer offer of around €200 million did arrive on Real Madrid's table, one would expect them to at least consider it. Also, the club are no stranger to doing business with Manchester United. In recent years, Raphael Varane and Casemiro have swapped Santiago Bernabeu for Old Trafford. Could Vinicius be next on that list?

Elsewhere, One of the biggest revelations this season has been Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen, who have gone well and beyond most people’s best expectations and are sitting top of the Bundesliga, with zero defeats in 22 games so far.

They are eight points clear of Bayern Munich, whom they have beaten at home and drawn 2-2 away this season. They seem to be on their way to breaking the Bavarians’ 11-year dominance in Germany.

And while a lot of plaudits will go to Victor Boniface, who is the top scorer of the team with ten goals, or Alejandro Grimaldo and Jeremie Frimpong, who have 17 and 13 direct goal contributions so far this season, the real star of the team is 20-year-olf Florian Wirtz.

Coming back from a lengthy ACL injury lay-off in 2023, the German was able to find his feet in the league last season easily, ending the season with a goal and six assists in 17 appearances.

However, he has taken his performances well and beyond this season, with five goals and nine assists in 22 games so far in 2023/24. He is, of course, attracting a lot of interest from all top European clubs, including a certain Real Madrid.

As per a report from AS, Wirtz’s main sponsor, Adidas, are pushing for the player to join Real Madrid in the summer of 2025.

The German brand, also Los Blancos shirt sponsor, played a vital role in Jude Bellingham’s signing in the summer, and are looking to do the same with Wirtz in the future.

Both Toni Kroos and Luka Modric are finishing their contracts this season, with the former offered a one-year extension on his deal. While he is in two minds about renewing, one thing is clear, neither of them will be at the club by 2025.

This is where Wirtz could come in and take over responsibility from the duo, and add some serious depth to Madrid’s already stacked midfield.

In Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, and Jude Bellingham, they already have four young world-class talents who will be fighting over three spots next season.

Alternatively, Wirtz could look to follow the Kevin de Bruyne route, and join Manchester City in 2025, who will likely be looking to replace the Belgian superstar as he turns 34 by then. His contract also expires that year.

Leverkusen would be happy to sell their superstar to either Madrid or City in 2025, as they do not want to see him at Bayern Munich or any other club in the Bundesliga.

They will be looking to demand a sum of around €130 million for Wirtz, which should not be a problem for either club.
