La Liga: Madrid must win against Sevilla after Barca beats Getafe

Real Madrid will host Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu in a La Liga fixture on Sunday. They will look to get back into winning ways after drawing their last league game against Rayo Vallecano. Despite dropping two points, they are the current table-toppers.

But with Barca beating Getafe 4-0 on Saturday Madrid know they must win this match.

The Whites have managed to accumulate 62 points after 25 outings and are leading by six points. The head-to-head record is in favour of the hosts with 25 wins to their name in a total of 34 clashes. The game will also mark the return of Sergio Ramos to his former home.

Andriy Lunin will once again line up in goal for Los Blancos. He has done well for the side in the absence of Thibaut Courtois, who will miss the rest of the season due to an injury.

Despite a below-par performance last week, Lucas Vazquez will continue to operate in the right-back position as Daniel Carvajal will not be available due to suspension.

The duo of Aurelien Tchouameni and Nacho Fernandez are expected to form the heart of the defence. Both the players need to step up and solidify the defensive line even further. Ferland Mendy is expected to start as the left-back ahead of Fran Garcia, who had little contribution in the previous game.

Fede Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga will be the holding midfielders for the hosts. They have all the equipment to influence the outcome of the game.

Carlo Ancelotti is unlikely to make any changes in the attacking line. The trio of Luka Modric, Brahim Diaz, and Vinicius Junior will once again take on the field. Vinicius didn’t have a good game against Rayo and will be eager to turn things around this weekend.

Joselu scored the only goal for his side in the previous game. With him, he is improving on a lot of aspects. The fans will expect him to start delivering more consistently.
