Returnee Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo has sent a heartwarming message to the Nigeria national team in Cameroon as they get set to begin their quest for glory on Tuesday against the Pharaohs of Egypt.
Ighalo in a short video message made public on Monday charged the Super Eagles to go all the way to win a fourth title while expressing regrets over his inability to be part of the team no thanks to his Saudi club Al-Shabab FC.
He said ":...Here is me wishing the Super Eagles all the very best in the Afcon tournament, sorry I can not be there but I am supporting the boys all the way. we need prayers from Nigerians, to support and back the team"
According to Ighalo, the Eagles team is blessed with abundant talent good enough to conquer the continent for the fourth time.
"Go boys and make us proud, we have enough talent in that team that can take us to the final" Ighalo who finished as the top striker at the last Afcon tournament in Egypt submitted.
In an exclusive report by 234sportsng.com a few days back, we reported how Ighalo turned his back on club training after he was blocked by his Saudi Arabia outfit, Al-Shabab FC from representing Nigeria in Cameroon.
Miffed by the twists and turns that characterized his participation in the African soccer fiesta after being recalled by former Super Eagles gaffer, Gernot Rohr, the former Watford striker embarked on a training strike at the club by refusing to join teammates in training for three days.
