These past weeks haven't been the best of times for the Nigeria Football Federation as issues of indebtedness were brought to the front burner when Ike Shorunmu talked about how the failure of the NFF to pay his allowances, bonuses, and salary is affecting his life and confirmed he has not been paid despite news making the rounds that allowances, bonuses and salaries of some of the coaches working with the NFF have been paid.

Fuel was added to the burner with the poor results recorded by the Super Eagles and the Olympic Eagles in Abuja during the International break as coach Peseiro was owed 10 months' salary by the body.

The NFF responded by paying some of the outstanding of the national team coaches with particular mention to the payment of three months out of the ten months the NFF owed Peseiro totaling 210 thousand dollars.
