Manchester City striker Erling Haaland broke yet another Premier League record to help Manchester City take charge of their clash with Wolves in Saturday's lunchtime kick-off.

The Norwegian, 22, was afforded far too much time to burst into the final third and finish beyond Jose Sa from the edge of the area after receiving the ball from Bernardo Silva.

His 16th-minute strike doubled City's lead at Molineux after Jack Grealish - later on the receiving end of a straight-red challenge from Nathan Collins - struck less than one minute into the match.

Haaland's goal continued his electric start to life in England following his £51million arrival from Borussia Dortmund this summer and made him the first player in Premier League history to score in his first four away appearances.

The former Molde and Red Bull Salzburg prodigy has already broken numerous records in England's top flight, scoring nine goals in his first five appearances to surpass Sergio Aguero and Micky Quinn.

Nonetheless, City manager Pep Guardiola has declared that there is still room for improvement in Haaland's game, in what is a stark warning for the reigning champions' domestic rivals. "He's an exceptional striker, I've said it many times," the Spaniard said of his talismanic player.

"But at the age he is, and I think he has ambition, he wants to be better, and I think he will be better. He's a perfect person to manage. He's a nice guy and this is the most important thing. The quality he has he had before he came here, he has continued to do what he has done. We didn't add many things."

In a move which came as no surprise to fans, Haaland was crowned the Premier League Player of the Month for August for his return of nine goals in five games.
