The Black Princesses of Ghana defeated the Falconets of Nigeria to win the maiden edition of the WAFU B U20 Championship on Saturday. 

The final which took place at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi saw the Falconets concede their first goal of the tournament when 
Stella Nyamekye opened the scoring for Ghana in the first half. 

She converted from the penalty spot after Comfort Owusu was fouled in the box.

The Falconets were kept at bay by their host despite scoring 19 goals in the competition before the final as Ghana neutralized all the Nigerians' attacking moves.

However, with five minutes away from full time, Sebastine Flourine capitalized on a miscommunication between goalkeeper Afi Amenyaku and her defense to restore parity as the game ended 1-1 at full time.

The Ghanaians won the match through the lottery of penalties Ghana’s Goalkeeper, Afi Amenyaku was the hero as she made three saves from four takes while  Mary Amponsah scored the winning penalty to emerge champions.
