Few days to FIFA Women World Cup NFF, Waldrum show of shame reach feverish point

The battle of words between the NFF and Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum is get hotter and hotter with the FIFA Women's World Cup just days away.

Head of the NFF Communication Department, Ademola Olajire has again reacted to Waldrum's latest comments about the internal affairs of the Football Federation to the team. Waldrum in a podcast stated that NFF has not paid some players for over two years and was also demanding accountability from the NFF regarding FIFA funds not forgetting his concerns about a staff shortage.

“Incompetent loudmouth has now found his voice since he’s about to achieve his only ambition of leading a team at the Women’s World Cup. Everyone knows FIFA pays preparation money for every team going to the Women’s World Cup. The team travelled to Japan to play matches, travelled to Mexico for a tournament, and travelled to Turkey to play matches.”

“The team is presently having a 15-day training camp in Gold Coast ahead of the Women’s World Cup. Is it Blabbermouth Waldrum who has been paying? He claims he’s been at the job because of the players. Bollocks. His entire objective has always been to add leading a team at the World Cup to his CV. Worst coach to have handled the Super Falcons of Nigeria by a country mile.”

The American coach had in an interview last week accused the NFF of trying to force some players on him which he rejected leading to the federation stopping his planned camp while also stopping his assistant from joining him.

The NFF however denied the accusations while also calling into question the technical capability of the American.

Waldrum has however come out in another podcast interview, accusing the federation of owing him and some of the players as he said he was not going to be keeping quiet again.

“Up until about three weeks ago, I was owed 14 months’ salary, and then they paid seven months,” he lamented “We still have players that haven’t been paid since two years ago when we played the Summer Series in the USA, it’s a travesty.

“I’m not going to be quiet anymore, in October, every country was given $960,000 from FIFA to prepare for the World Cup, Where’s that money?”

“FIFA allows your staff to have up to 22 people but we only have 11, we don’t have scouts to watch the teams in our group or potential opponents.”

The coach said he would have left the job but the players were the ones making him continue.

He added: “I saw the NFF response to my previous comments on the other podcast and it just seemed like a really childish response.

“What keeps me going is the players, otherwise, I would have walked away from this job a long time ago.”
