Nigeria forward who plays for Union Saint Gilloise, Victor Boniface has won the UEFA Europa League Player of the Week award.


Boniface beat Manchester United midfielder, Bruno Fernandea,  who captained and scored twice as United defeated Real Betis by 4-1 in the Europa League first leg round of 16 played at Ild Trafford last Thursday.

Nigeria forward also defeated Roma’s Paulo Dybala and Bayer Levecenter-back-back, Edmond Tapsoba who were part of the shortlist for the award.


This is a direct reward for the 22-year-old who scored a brace in Union Gilloise's 3-3 draw against Bundesliga club, Union Berlin on Thursday night.

UEFA made the announcement on its official Twitter handle on Friday.
