Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed Sadio Mane will be available to face Manchester City on Wednesday after serving an internal suspension.

Senegal international Mane was made unavailable for Bayern's weekend clash with Hoffenheim, with the club taking action after an incident involving the former Liverpool man and team-mate Leroy Sane.

Mane is alleged to have hit Sane in the aftermath of the first-leg defeat against City at the Etihad Stadium.

Sane made an immediate return to action, starting Saturday's game and playing nearly an hour for Tuchel's side.

He could be rejoined by Mane next time out, with the reigning Bundesliga champions chasing an unlikely European turnaround.

"Sadio has already reacted and apologized," Tuchel said. "He will train with us as normal tomorrow and be in the squad against Manchester City on Wednesday."

Bayern lost 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium in the first leg, with Rodri opening the scoring before Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland added gloss to the scoreline.

It was the Bundesliga leaders' first defeat in this season's competition, with Tuchel's predecessor Julian Nagelsmann overseeing six group stage wins out of six and a last-16 victory over Paris Saint-Germain.

Mane was part of the Liverpool side which made it all the way to the final last season, but has not hit the same heights since his £35m summer move to the Allianz Arena.

He has 11 goals in all competitions for his new club, but none since returning from the injury which kept him out of Senegal's World Cup campaign.
