AOA Foundation Basketball Camp Inspires Youth in Sango-Ota

Get ready, Sango-Ota! The 4th annual Adeola Ajayi (AOA) Foundation Basketball Camp is set to take over the Oba Moshood Alani Oyede Mini Stadium from April 19th to 22nd.

This exciting event promises to be a thrilling experience for young basketball enthusiasts in Ogun State.

Founder and former basketball player Adeola Ajayi expressed his enthusiasm for this year's camp, highlighting the fantastic opportunities awaiting the young participants.

He's on a mission to discover the next generation of basketball stars who will not only dominate the courts but also excel in the business world.

The AOA Foundation Basketball Camp goes beyond teaching basketball basics.

Adeola is particularly excited about the entrepreneurial aspect, as accomplished CEOs will inspire the kids by sharing their own success stories.

“The camp is about teaching them the rudiments of basketball and some entrepreneurial skills,” he stated.

“Yes, I am happy teaching the young lads about basketball but I am super excited about the entrepreneurial part of this camping exercise, we have CEOs that will be speaking to the kids; to let them know they can do a lot of good for themselves even outside basketball, so they don’t put all their eggs in one basket.” Adeolai added.

While he started out from Sango-Ota, Adeola currently resides in the United States, and is passionate about giving back to his community.

He firmly believes in providing these young talents with the necessary foundation to succeed.

“Coming back to do this is not about showing off, the drive is to help set a good foundation for these kids.

“For example, we will be giving them basketball shoes, I never had that opportunity when I was playing, I was managing bad shoes that got me injured and cut short my career, so by providing these kids with the basic amenities they need, we would have done well to help their careers start on the right footing.”

Adding an international flair to the camp, experienced American coach and former NBA star Curtis Berry will join the event.

Currently the head boys' basketball coach at Mount Vernon Presbyterian School in Atlanta, Berry is eager to share his wisdom and expertise with the young players in Sango-Ota.

Visiting Africa and Nigeria for the first time, he aims to spot hidden talent and inspire kids to work hard to achieve their goals.

This year's AOA Foundation Basketball Camp is shaping up to be an incredible experience for the young athletes of Sango-Ota.

With top-notch basketball coaching, motivational speakers, and essential gear, these aspiring stars will undoubtedly be inspired to reach new heights in both their sports and business careers.
