Alozie enjoying the American Women’s League not dreaming of moving to Europe

Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozie says she is not considering quitting the United States’ National Women’s Soccer League side, Houston Dash, for a sojourn in Europe anytime soon.

The 26-year-old defender was among the standout players for the club in 2023, scoring three goals in 16 appearances.

She was also a key player for Nigeria during their sensational run at the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, where the Falcons were eliminated on penalties by England in the round of 16.

The defender is however not buoyed by her impressive run of form for club and country, insisting that she is looking forward to Houston Dash’s next challenge in the NWSL.

 “I’m just really focused on the season ahead with the Houston Dash and I’m excited about it. That’s all I’m focusing on, other things happening in the future; we just have to wait and see but right now I’m just focused on the NWSL,” Alozie told Punch during Asisat Oshoala’s all-star event in Lagos.

The club finished the 2023 regular season in 10th place with 26 points from 22 games.

Since joining them in 2021, Alozie has scored six goals in 31 appearances.
