Golf icon Tiger Woods expanded his golf range by operating as a caddie for his son Charlie, as the 14-year-old qualified for the Notah Begay III National Championship.

The younger Woods golfer was 6-under 66 and won his age group in the Last Chance Regional, with Tiger being there as a mentor.

Charlie scored birdies on his first three holes and later followed it up with three more straight birdies to begin the back nine.

Clearly, in a mood for the one-under-par shots, he sealed his win on the 18th hole with an eight-foot putt for his final birdie of the day.

"It's great. We just stay in our own little world," Charlie said about Tiger caddying.

"We take it one shot at a time. He puts me in my place. I'll talk about the next tee shot and he's like, 'No. This is the shot we're going to focus on. Focus up. This is what we're going to do.'

"Obviously, this course is great for me," Charlie added. "Just take it one shot at a time, don't think too far ahead, and you just got to keep eating. That's it."

Now 47, Tiger Woods is seldom spotted playing competitively these days thanks to injuries but there are some hints that the golfing great might be ready to give his professional career one last hurrah.

He has slowly been dabbling on the course and a while back was at a driving range as a host for the Nexus Cup, casually hitting the ball.

He was also touring Medalist, in Jupiter, FL, where he trained for much of his career.

He could be set to return to competition with Charlie at the PNC Parent-Child Championship in Florida.

Scheduled for December 14-17, it could be his next appearance but he does anticipate missing most of 2024.
