Saka says it’s an honour to win PFA Young Player of the Year, Award Haaland wins Men title.

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka faced competition from last season's Premier League's top scorer Erling Haaland and former Brighton and current Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo in the race to win the PFA Young Player of the Year for 2023.

But the Gunners' star bagged the prestigious award. The Arsenal winger collected the trophy in person at the Lowry Theatre in Manchester on Tuesday.

Upon receiving the accolade, Saka wrote on social media, "PFA Young Player. It's an honour for me to accept this award and have my name alongside the previous winners. To have your peers acknowledge you is a very special feeling! Thank you to the PFA and congratulations to all the other winners and nominees this evening."

With 14 goals and eight assists, Saka played a crucial role in Arsenal's best Premier League finish in over two decades. The Gunners led the title race for the majority of the season but eventually lost the trophy to Manchester City in the end who caught up with them in May.

Meanwhile, Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, and Saka have all been included in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year.

Manchester City finished five points clear of Manchester City to win the Premier League title last season and five members of Pep Guardiola’s side have made the cut for the Team of the Year, which is voted for by the players.

Alongside Haaland is Rodri and Kevin de Bruyne in midfield. While in defence, John Stones and Ruben Dias are included.

Arsenal have four players in the Team of the Year – Aaron Ramsdale, William Saliba, Martin Odegaard, and Saka.

Newcastle United are the only other club with a player in this year’s team as Kieran Trippier landed a spot at right-back.

Manchester United finished third in the Premier League but it wasn’t enough for a player in Erik ten Hag’s squad to win enough votes to secure a place in the team.

Liverpool, who finished fifth in the Premier League last term, are also without a player in the PFA Team of the Year for the first time in seven years.
