NPFL Matchday 1 Fixtures: Sporting Lagos host Gombe United as NPFL returns to Lagos

Sporting Lagos will host Gombe United in Lagos in the opening weekend of the 2023/2024 NPFL, www.234sportsng.com reports
This was revealed at the draws which took place in Abuja on Tuesday among other titanic opening battles which the draw threw up.
The match will take place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on the 9th of September, 2023 as NPFL action returns to Lagos to mark the beginning of 38 weeks of 380 games lined up for the season.
Champions Enyimba will start their title defense against Bendel Insurance at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.
The other fixtures which the draw threw up have last season's runners-up, Remo Stars will travel to face former champion, Rivers United.
Sunshine Stars of Akure, will begin the season at home against Premier League returnee, Kano Pillars
Shooting Stars will also begin at home against Plateau United as they begin another search for the NPFL title which they last won in 1998.
