Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies has been named Canada Soccer Player of the Year for the fourth time in five seasons.

Davies helped Bayern win the 2021/22 Bundesliga and 2022 Supercup, whilst becoming Canada's record appearance-maker in the UEFA Champions League. The 22-year-old was also instrumental in his country reaching their first World Cup since 1986, before scoring their first ever goal at a finals.

Davies has won three of his four Canadian Player of the Year awards since officially joining Bayern from Vancouver Whitecaps in January 2019. During his time in Munich, the Edmontonian - who was born in a Ghanaian refugee camp after his parents fled the Liberian civil war - has blossomed into one of the best left-backs in world football.

Davies has played 134 times in all competitions for the record champions, winning - among others - four Bundesliga titles and the 2019/2020 UEFA Champions League, becoming the first Canadian to achieve the latter. The 36-time Canada international is now only eight games shy of 100 appearances in the German top flight.
