After some not too impressive showing on the road since the start of the second round of the ongoing 2021/2022 NPFL season, captain of the ‘Flying Antelopes’, Rangers International F.C, Tope Olusesi, has promised the supporters of the club a good outing as they take on Nasarawa United in a match day 33 fixture in Jos, Plateau state.

The vastly experienced right-back said this as the team landed in Jos for the encounter which he acknowledges will be tough but he and his teammates were battle-ready to do a good representation so as to banish the nightmare of their last visit to the same venue three weeks back.

“I believe that we are in Jos for business and this will be displayed on the pitch on Sunday. There is no room for too much talk because we know what happened to us in our last visit to Jos and we don’t want a repeat but to redeem our image and get back to winning ways,” said the Super Eagles B team defence Trojan.

With only a solitary point gained on the road in the second stanza as against 14 points recorded in the first stanza, Tope said, “Really, it has been very challenging but I have that strong belief that we shall start getting points on the road starting with this second visit to Jos.”

Rangers currently occupy the 3rd spot on the twenty-team log with 51 points from 32 matches as against 41 points for Nasarawa United from the same number of matches and occupying the 11th spot in the ongoing season. Both sides under quality managers will battle with all in their arsenals to wrest the three points at stake.

With coach Bala Nikyu on the dugout for the host and coach Abdul Maikaba on the visitor’s bench, fans are assured of a quality display of football at the New Jos Stadium and will get reward for fees paid.

Since 2015, both teams have clashed twelve times with three encounters ending in a draw with the Enugu side having four wins while the Lafia side has five wins, and the 13th encounter on Sunday, June 12, 2022, will be settled on neutral ground as the Lafia City Stadium is undergoing renovation.

On the strength of performance in the current season, Rangers have an edge going into the fixture with 14 wins, 9 drawn matches, and 9 losses scoring 37 goals and conceding 25 while Nasarawa United boasts of 11 wins, 8 draws, and 13 losses, scoring 37 goals while letting in 43.

In the last five fixtures for Nasarawa United, it has been, L, W, L, W, L while Rangers’ form reads, L, W, L, W, L.
