Super Eagles Assistant Coach Emmanuel Amunike is optimistic that the Super Eagles will beat the Black Stars of Ghana to the Qatar 2022 World Cup ticket when the two teams meet at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Tuesday.

While blaming the Kumasi pitch for Our Boys' not too impressive display Amunike said the lapses noticed in the Friday match will be corrected before the match in Abuja.

Eagles played a goalless draw against the Black Stars of Ghana in a first-leg match on Friday night in Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi.

” Our game against Ghana was an interesting one because the players played up to expectation.

“You do not compare the pitches in Africa to the once they play in Europe but all the same despite everything player did not lose focus till the final blow.

“The most important thing is that we were able to see the lapses and will be working on them to get it right before Tuesday match.

Meanwhile, team captain Ahmed Musa has cited quotes from Harry Potter author, J. K. Rowling while appealing to Super Eagles fans to come out in mass and support the team against the Black Stars of Ghana on Tuesday.

“We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided. J.K. Rowling,” Musa wrote in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Saturday.

“The unity exhibited in the game yesterday is one that we seek for our game on Tuesday.

“Your massive turnout and support will be invaluable for the desired result. Hope to see you then. UP EAGLES”.

The winner over the two legs will qualify for the World Cup in Qatar later this year.
