Disgraced British sprinter CJ Ujah will have his public funding withheld unless he pays UK Sport more than £10,000, following his doping ban that saw Great Britain stripped of their Tokyo Olympics 4x100metre silver medal.

Ujah is suspended from competing until June after his positive test for banned substances.

UK Sport said: 'Chijindu Ujah would be ineligible to receive public funding with effect from August 6, 2021 to June 6, 2023.

'In addition, an eligibility panel determined that Ujah owed funds (£10,665) to UK Sport.

'Until that sum is paid in full, he will remain ineligible to receive public funding.'

Meanwhile, the UK is one of 30 nations to back a ban on Russian and Belarusian athletes at Paris 2024.

The IOC is exploring a 'pathway' for those athletes to compete as neutrals.
