Lennox Lewis says Joshua does not stand a chance against Wilder

Former undisputed heavyweight champion, Lennox Lewis, has weighed in with his prediction for the potential Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder matchup.
Joshua and Wilder have been heavily linked for a fight for years, and at one stage it looked like the contest would happen with all the belts on the line. Things have moved on, with neither man now in possession of a heavyweight title.
Wilder lost his WBC strap after back-to-back defeats to Tyson Fury, whilst Joshua suffered a similar fate at the hands of Oleksandr Usyk.
Although the fight won’t be to crown the first undisputed champion since Lewis, it doesn’t seem to have lost its appeal amongst fans – with many still calling it the most exciting fight in boxing today.
Lewis was the last man to hold all the belts in the blue-ribbon division, beating Evander Holyfield in 1999 in a rematch after a controversial draw first time out.
Speaking to ESNEWS about the clash, Lewis was in no doubt that Wilder would walk away victorious.
“Joshua against Wilder? Definitely Wilder.
Wilder’s got that thing in him where he wants to hurt you and I’ve seen it every time he throws that right hand, he’s trying to damage you with that right hand. He’s throws it with intention.”
‘The Lion’ might not have long to wait to see if his prediction comes true, with Saudi Arabia plotting to host a heavyweight extravaganza this December. The ambitious plans would see ‘The Bronze Bomber’ take on ‘AJ’ and Fury face Usyk.
