Joshua to get $50 million for Friday’s bout with Ngannou, while the Cameroonian takes home $20 million

Boxing weekend will kick off on Friday, March 8 with an explosive card headlined by the Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou bout, who will square off in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in a 10-round fight between two knockout titans.

Joshua is looking to get another shot at regaining the belts he lost to Oleksandr Usyk and on his way he faces Ngannou, a former UFC champion who floored Tyson Fury on his boxing debut.

Being a fight organized in Saudi Arabia, it is not surprising that both fighters will pocket one of the most lucrative purses of their careers.

For Ngannou it will be higher than the $10 million he earned on his impressive cameo against Tyson Fury, and according to Forbes data, his profit will be $20 million.

For Forbes's part, they suggest that Joshua will earn much more than his opponent by taking home up to $50 million before including the PPV (pay-per-view) and bonuses for winning, or for extending the fight to all 10 rounds.

The Briton is looking to return to a world heavyweight championship fight and aims to challenge the winner of Usyk vs Fury. This time it would be for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world since Fury holds the WBC belt that he won from Deontay Wilder.

The fight is scheduled for March 8 and the card kicks off at 10:00 ET, while the main event fight is scheduled to start around 18:00 ET/15:00 PT.

It will be one of the events surrounding the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, which runs on Saturday, having been brought forward due to the commencement of Ramadan on Sunday.
