Super Eagles winger, Moses Simon has admitted that his French Ligue 1 side FC Nantes stopped him from joining Leeds United during the January transfer window, hitc.com reports.
The former Getafe winger was highly speculated to join coach Marcelo Bielsa's side last January but the deal failed to see the light of the day despite the player's Impressive performance at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

In an exclusive chat with CD media, Simon maintained that he was looking forward to moving to England, and was highly elated when his agent notified him of Leeds United interest.
“Yes, it is true. My agent told me about some offers. Leeds United came calling with a strong offer and (it was my) intention of sealing the deal immediately,” says the 26-year-old.
“My club wants me to finish the season with FC Nantes,” Simon adds. “And I want to contribute to ensuring we secure a Europa League ticket at the end of the season. We are pushing hard for that.
“Already, we are in the quarter-finals of the French cup. And, presently, we are among the top ten teams in the league table. Hopefully, the Europa League will not be a bad achievement.” he told CD media

Simon was one of the shining lights of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations where he produced an individual mesmerizing display that earned Nigeria three wins in the group stage of the competition until Tunisia ended Nigeria's AFCON campaign with a 1-0 win the knockouts stage.
