La Gazzetta dello Sport,Corriere dello Sport, Corriere della Sera and Tuttosport, all top media houses in Italy on Sunday referred to Super Eagles and Napoli forward Victor Osimhen as a super hero.

Osimhen played a key role in league leaders Napoli’s vital 2-1 win over challengers Atalanta, impressing the Italian media.

The 23-year-old Nigerian forward has been on fire under Luciano Spalletti since returning from his recent muscle injury, scoring six goals and providing one assist in his last four league outings.

Napoli started the season in electric fashion and the reintroduction of Osimhen has only made Spalletti’s side more dangerous, giving them hope of winning their first Scudetto in three decades.

La Gazzetta dello Sport compared Osimhen to a superhero in Napoli’s win over Atalanta, suggesting that “he looks like the Thing from the Fantastic 4.” Corriere dello Sport agreed with this comic book sentiment, noting how “he belongs to an unknown galaxy.

The breakaway goal is monumental, the pass to open for Elmas is devastating. And so he makes up for the penalty.”

Tuttosport had even higher praise for the Nigerian forward, detailing how “he caused the penalty with a truly casual handball and makes up for it after four minutes by finding the right space and time for an unstoppable header. When he snaps he is an unstoppable irradiator, just ask Demiral.”

Corriere della Sera did not break rank and laid further compliments at Osimhen’s door for his performance against Atalanta, suggesting that he’s “always a protagonist, he does everything himself, handball in the box and penalty, goal and redemption.”

The 23-year-old Osimhen has scored nine goals and provided two assists in 12 appearances across Serie A and the Champions League this season.
