HT Update: Aubameyang scores first El Clasico goal as Barca lead Real Madrid
Barcelona El Clasico

Gabon forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has marked his first EL Clasico appearance with a goal.

The former Arsenal captain headed Barcelona in front just before the half-hour mark after connecting well to a well delivered cross from Mousa Dembele.

Though Real Madrid threatened to get an equaliser afterwards, it was Barcelona who doubled their advantage as Ronald Arajuo headed in another well tailored cross from Dembele.

No player in Europe's top five divisions has provided more league assists in 2022 than Ousmane Dembélé (6)

Before tonight, Aubameyang had made no secret of the fact that he is looking forward to Sunday's game.

The striker has already played against Los Blancos six times, but each time in the Champions League and with Borussia Dortmund.

Now he is doing it for the first time in LaLiga Santander.

"The Clasico is the biggest match in the world, because everyone talks about that game."
