Giannis is down with a new injury, to miss the Bucks’ game against the Clippers

The Milwaukee Bucks return home from a brief two-game road stand on Monday night to host the Los Angeles Clippers. This will be their only matchup in the Fiserv Forum before they hit the road again, this time on a four-game road trip in California to face the Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Clippers again, and finally, the Sacramento Kings.

Monday’s home game will be a pivotal contest for the surging Bucks as they look to remain undefeated since the All-Star break. Unfortunately for Milwaukee, they could be without Giannis Antetokounmpo for this upcoming marquee matchup.

Over the past couple of weeks, it has been a right knee issue that has been bothering the former back-to-back MVP. He’s been a constant on the Bucks’ injury report, but he has been playing through the knee problem.

He’s on the injury list again for Monday’s contest, but the concerning bit here is that Antetokounmpo is dealing with a new injury. As of writing, he is considered questionable to play against the Clippers due to tendinitis in his left Achilles.

It remains unclear how and when Giannis sustained the injury, but given how this is the first we’re hearing of this, it’s possible that he suffered the knock during Milwaukee’s 113-97 win over the Chicago Bulls on Friday.

At this point, the eight-time All-Star’s status for Monday’s contest remains up in the air.
