Super Eagles forward Emmanuel Dennis's hope of leaving relegated Watford for a Premier Club in the 2022/23 season may have been dashed because of Watford asking price.

The latest clubs to be dissuaded by Watford's asking price are Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest.

Before now West Ham and Everton had shelved their interest in Dennis because of Watford's asking price which they considered too high.

The Eagles forward has been widely tipped to move on from Watford this summer due to the club’s relegation from the Premier League into the Championship.

Nottingham Forest are claimed to have held talks with the striker’s camp, while Newcastle, hunting a hitman, have also been strongly linked.

Watford have slapped an asking price of £20m on Dennis’ head, but neither club are prepared to meet it.

Everton are also suitors, but the Toffees have shown no sign of splashing the cash on Dennis.

The 24-year-old still has another four years to run on his Watford contract, placing the Hornets in a strong position.

He scored ten times in 33 appearances in the Premier League for Watford last season, but could not help the Hornets to survive.
