Serie A leader Napoli have reportedly put a massive price tag on Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen following interest from both Man United and Chelsea.

That’s according to a recent report from Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, who claim Napoli are desperate for their Nigerian hitman to extend his contract, but should a summer move be on the cards, the Italian club are determined to bank a major fee.

Having experienced a hugely impressive season that has seen him score 26 goals in just 31 appearances, in all competitions, Osimhen is understandably attracting the interest of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

With both United and Chelsea’s striking problems well documented, it comes as no surprise that both sides have the 24-year-old on their summer shortlists.

However, should either club back their admiration up in the form of an official offer, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis will reportedly demand a whopping £132m (€150m) in exchange for the prolific number nine.

Osimhen currently has two years left on his deal so failure to extend his stay at the Diego Maradona Stadium could mean this summer is Napoli’s best chance of securing a decent transfer fee.

Despite the price tag Manchester United are ‘more determined in their choice’ of Osimhen than their rivals to sign the Nigeria international, according to a report.

Chelsea and United are both in desperate need of a striker this summer and are among the clubs most heavily linked.

Paris Saint-Germain have joined the Premier League pair in showing ‘more direct interest’ in Osimhen than other clubs.

That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), who claim United hold the advantage over Chelsea as although the Blues are ‘able to offer sumptuous contracts’, they look set to miss out on European football next season.

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba, who’s been a mentor for Osimhen in recent times, believes the striker should reject offers from Paris Saint-Germain.

“If he is really in the sights of a club like PSG, it shows the full extent of his talent and the season he is having,” Drogba told Canal+.

“But, PSG is not the club he needs to continue his progress.”

Speaking about Drogba earlier this year, Osimhen said: “I have always supported Drogba and I have huge love and admiration for him.

“I remember when he scored the equaliser in the 2012 Champions League Final, an amazing header, and the way I celebrated was as though I had scored the goal. My friends knew I was obsessed with Drogba.

“When I scored 10 goals and won the Golden Boot at the Under-17 World Cup in 2015, one of the Nigeria staff showed me a tweet from Drogba. It said ‘Congratulations Victor. I wish you all the best for the future.'”
