Mauricio Pochettino taking over at Chelsea is increasingly looking like a reality that would soon be visible to all

According to the latest reports, the Argentine has verbally agreed to become the next permanent manager at Stamford Bridge

It is alleged that Pochettino’s agreement to the Chelsea offer came after conducting further talks with the club this week.

The Blues are looking to have the deal wrapped up by the end of the week with an official announcement expected before the end of the season.

Pochettino, who has been out of work since leaving PSG last year, met with Chelsea representatives in Spain on Monday following a series a positive discussions that saw him pull ahead of the likes of Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique and Vincent Kompany in the race for the hot seat.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the "final details" are all that's left to be ironed out with both manager and club anticipating a full agreement very soon.

It's said caretaker boss Frank Lampard will remain in charge of Chelsea until the end of the season even if Pochettino's appointment is confirmed before then.

The former Tottenham manager had been approached by the Blues twice in the past, once unofficially in 2020 and again in 2022 following Thomas Tuchel's departure.
