The events leading to the  2023 Federation Cup kicks off with the National playoffs as a 
A total of seven matches will be played on Tuesday, instead of the earlier scheduled 8 games. 


The tie between Osevan FC of Delta State and Ahudia FC of Abia State will not be held as Osevan FC pulled out due to a short note from the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF. 


The Delta State Federation Cup Champions wrote the NFF through the Delta State Football Association, DFA informing them of their inability to honor the match citing a short notification notice.

The team wrote in the letter cited by www.234sportsng.com that " due to a very short notice received on Sunday 16th April 2023 to travel to Uyo on 17th April Monday and play on 18th April ( Tuesday), we were incapacitated because we are a mere Grassroot Football Club from Kwale, there is no time to source for the fund and no support or assistance n from relevant stakeholders and Delta State Football Association" the letter reads in part.


The team also the medium appealing to the NFF not to sanction them for their inability to honor the match. 


Going by this, Ahudiya FC will automatically book a place in the round of 64 and will be among the teams that will be drawn in Abuja on Wednesday.  

According to the roadmap release by the NFF, the Draws for the Round of 64 will hold on Wednesday, 26th April.

 

The Round of 32 matches has been scheduled for Wednesday, 3rd May, with the Round of 16 slated for Wednesday, 10th May, and the thquarter-finalsls to take place on Wednesday, 17th May.

 

The semi-finals will come up on Wednesday, 24th May with the grand finale on Saturday, 27th May.
