EPL: Saka, Arteta wins Player and Manager of the Month Awards

Bukayo Saka has been voted the Premier League player of the month for March while manager Mikel Arteta has secured his fourth manager of the month award of the season.

Saka scored the opener in Arsenal’s 4-0 win over Everton and later grabbed an assist for Gabriel Martinelli.

He was also instrumental in wins over Bournemouth and Fulham before closing out his domestic responsibilities with a brace and assist against Crystal Palace. It didn’t hurt that he then curled home a beauty for England against Ukraine while on international duty.

The 21-year-old beat off competition for the monthly award, the first of his career, from teammate Leandro Trossard who recorded an impressive five assists. Alexander Isak, Mo Salah, Alexis Mac Allister and Tyrone Mings were also nominated.

Given Arsenal won all four of their league matches in March, Arteta was a shoo-in for the managerial honour. He came out ahead of Pep Guardiola, Unai Emery and Roberto De Zerbi.
