Djokovic ends the season for eight years running, ranked No. 1 for 400 week

With his three-set victory over Holger Rune at the ATP Finals in Turin, Italy on Sunday, world No. 1 Novak Djokovic solidified his record-extending eighth Year-End No. 1 ranking.

Djokovic has been Year-End No. 1 in 2011, ‘12, ‘14, ‘15, ‘18, ‘20, ‘21 and ‘23.

Pete Sampras ranks second with six, followed by Roger Federer at five.

With his 7-6(4), 6-7(1), 6-3 victory, Djokovic, 36, will also be No. 1 in the world for 400 total weeks when the new rankings come out Monday.

The next closest was Federer at 310 weeks.

“This guy is ridiculous,” Jim Courier said on Tennis Channel of Djokovic’s records.

Djokovic this year went 27-1 in Grand Slam matches, winning the Australian Open, French Open, and U.S. Open and losing in the Wimbledon final to Carlos Alcaraz. His 24 Grand Slam titles are tied for the most ever with Margaret Court.

Djokovic has won 32 of 33 matches and is on a 19-match winning streak.
