Cameroon Vs Burkina Faso

The 33rd edition of the African Cup of Nations has gotten off to a thrilling start with hosts Cameroon securing a 2-1 win over Burkina Faso despite starting from behind.

It was the Stallions who took the lead through Gustavo Sangare in the 24th minute.

Sangare scored with a wonderful volley at the far post to give his side a shock lead.

Not great goalkeeping from Onana, who came for it and missed the ball.

A lifeline however came for the Lions in the 38th minute when they were awarded a penalty kick after a VAR review.

Vincent Aboubakar stepped up... AND SCORED!

Cameroon have their equaliser as the striker strolls up and sends the goalkeeper the wrong way.

Burkina Faso’s Traore was left furious with himself, as it was a really unnecessary challenge.

The second goal for Cameroon also came from the penalty spot just before halftime with the same man getting the job done in a convincing fashion.

Much will still be expected of five-time winners Cameroon on home soil, with Toni Conceicao’s team boasting the likes of Vincent Aboubakar, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting among others.
