As recently reported by 234sportsng.com, Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is set to rejoin Napoli on Monday barring any last minutes hitches.
The former Super Eagles have been in isolation in Nigeria after he tested positive to Covid-19 last month, but he has been given a clean bill of health to rejoin his teammates after a recent result showed that the former Lille forward tested negative, ten days after he was quarantined.
Napoli made this revelation on its official Instagram account (https://www.instagram.com/p/CYgSWQiq64t/)
on Sunday, adding that their prized assets would be joining the rest of the squad in the coming hours
"Victor is negative to Covid-19 and will return to Italy in the coming hours," Napoli stated.
Osimhen withdrew from Nigeria's AFCON 2021 squad on health grounds following successful surgery last month. He is expected to undergo a second scan under the watchful eyes of Doctor Gianpaolo Tartaro on arrival after he missed the second test on December 31 due to Covid-19.
Osimhen was earlier expected to miss around three months of action after surgery on his cheekbone and eye socket after he was injured during 3-2 Serie A defeat away at Inter Milan.
But the Super Eagles striker stunned Napoli's doctor when he announced his readiness to be part of Nigeria's AFCON party weeks after successful surgery on his cheekbone. But his dream of representing Nigeria in Cameroon went up in flames after he tested positive to Covid-19 last week.
