Another Turkish club guns for Onyekuru
Onyekuru-Transfer
Super Eagles winger, Henry Onyekuru could be heading to the Turkish Super Lig side, Medipol Başakşehir as the January transfer deadline looms.
The unsettled Olympiakos striker was initially tipped to make his fourth return to Galatasaray this January, but www.ntvspor.net reported that
Medipol Başakşehir seem to lead the race to sign the petit player after Gala raised an eyebrow over raising funds for his transfer.
But with Başakşehir seeking the right replacement for Edin Visca, the club chieftains immediately got in touch with Olympiakos for a possible deal for former Monaco forward.
Talks are still ongoing between both parties as at press time with the hope that the petit striker will finally complete a loan deal to the Medipol after Galatasaray chickened out of the deal.
Already, Olympiakos is willing to send Onyekuru on loan for the rest of the season after the winger became surplus to requirement since joining the Greek side from The Principles
www.ntvspor.net reported that Basaksehir is willing to try their luck before tonight's transfer deadline after initial talks failed to yield any positive fruits.
Onyekuru played 21 games with the Greek team this season where he scored 1 goal and made 1 assist.
His only game at the 2021 AFCON was Nigeria's 3-1 win over Guinea Bissau and he has continued to seek for club football to brighten his chances in the Nigeria senior national side.
It would be recalled that Onyekuru featured three times for Galatasary between 2028-2021 where he won cup doubles with the yellow and red side of Istanbul.
