Benitez-Iwobi

Rafael Benitez has been sacked as Everton manager after less than seven months in charge.

The Toffees appointed the former Liverpool manager, 61, as Carlo Ancelotti's successor in June.

Everton, who lost 2-1 to Norwich City on Saturday, have won only one of their last 13 Premier League games and sit 15th in the table, six points above the relegation places.

The club say an update on a permanent replacement will be made in due course.

Benitez had faced criticism from sections of supporters at a number of games in recent weeks and there were similar scenes at Carrow Road, with the away end again expressing their desire for the Spaniard to leave the club.
And with the result still not going the way of Benitez against Norwich, the Spaniard has joined the growing list of managers to be fired in the Premier League this season.
Some of the other coaches who lost their positions this season in the Premier League include;  LPXisco Munoz (Watford) – October 3, 2021, Steve Bruce (Newcastle) – October 20, 2021, Nuno Espirito Santo (Tottenham) – November 1, 2021, Daniel Farke (Norwich City) – November 6, 2021, Dean Smith (Aston Villa) – November 7, 2021 and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (Manchester United) - November 21, 2021
With Sunday's development, Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi would have to start bracing up for life under another new coach having previously worked under Marco Silva and Carlo Ancelotti and of course Benitez.
At the moment, Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard are being suggested as possible replacements for Benitez.
