Afcon 2023: Captain Musa appeals for Nigerian's support as Eagles move to Bouake

The Super Eagles will fly out to Bouake on Sunday for their semi-final fixture at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Bouake, which is situated in the northern part of Cote d’Ivoire, is an hour’s flight from Abidjan.

The players and their officials will depart Abidjan in the morning and have their training session later in the evening.

Jose Peseiro’s men will face the winner of the game between Cape Verde and South Africa in the semi-final.

The semi-final at the Stade de la Paix will start at 6 pm on Wednesday.

The Super Eagles booked their place in the last four after they defeated the Palancas Negras of Angola on Friday night.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has urged every Nigerian, regardless of tribe and religion, to continue to show the true spirit of unity following Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinal 1-0 win over Angola on Friday.

Musa, in a tweet through his official X account on Saturday evening, also thanked Nigerians for their support for Jose Peseiro’s side against Angola.

The former Leicester City star tweeted: “Thank you, amazing supporters, for showcasing the true spirit of unity in the recent Super Eagles of Nigeria vs. Angola.

“Despite our diverse tribes and religions, football unites us all. The songs, images, and videos flooding social media reflect our shared passion.

“Let’s carry this unity forward—together, we can achieve anything we set our minds to! #UnityInFootball #SuperEagle,sFans #OneNation #TogetherWeAchieve.”

Musa has yet to feature for the Super Eagles at the AFCON so far.

But the forward has been captured on several occasions, supporting and encouraging the team from the bench.
