SAD: Umar Sadiq suffers knee injury
Sadiq sadly joins the growing list of injured Nigerian players across Europe.
The good run of form of Real Sociedad deadline day signing Umar Sadiq has been punctured.
The striker suffered what appears to be a knee injury on Sunday during Sociedad's away LaLiga clash against Getafe.
After initial treatment by medics on the pitch, Sadiq was helped off the pitch in the 37th minute as he sadly joins the growing list of injured Nigerian players across Europe.
Just a few days ago, Victor Osimhen during the Champions League game against Liverpool was also injured.
With the recent developments, the two strikers look certain to miss the next Super Eagles engagement which is friendly game against the Desert Foxes of Algeria.
While more information is still been expected from Real Sociedad on the nature and severity of Sadiq's injury, the Spanish club on their Twitter handle assured they would stand with their Nigerian striker in this difficult time.
Sadiq has been in good form lately with three LaLiga goals to his name; including the one scored on his Real Sociedad debut against Atletico Madrid last weekend.
