Ronaldo scores again, becomes first player with 850 official goals

Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo's first season in Saudi Arabia didn't go fully as expected. He scored plenty of goals, but he didn't win a trophy with Al-Nassr, which has become unusual for the legendary Portuguese.

But this season has had a different aura from the get-go. They won the Arab Club Champions Cup by defeating Al-Hilal in extra time and qualified for the 2023-2024 AFC Champions League with a come-from-behind win in the playoff round.

Ronaldo played a crucial role in both, particularly in the Cup final where he scored twice.

While their campaign in the Saudi Pro League began with two losses, the team has rebounded in a major way over the last three matchdays, with Ronaldo dominating. On Saturday, Ronaldo scored yet again and assisted on two other goals in Al-Nassr's 5-1 win over Al-Hazem.

With the goal, the Portugal national team captain became the first player in the sport's history to reach 850 official goals in their career.

It marked his sixth goal in the last three games. He also has dished out four assists over those same three games. He currently leads the league in both categories.

With Ronaldo in top form, Al-Nassr can dream of even more trophies coming up. They are now only four points behind the top spot in the league standings.
