Osimhen restates desire to play in the English Premier League

For the umpteenth time, Super Eagles striker  Victor Osimhen has restated his desire to play in the English Premier League.

The Nigerian striker has rarely been off the back pages in recent months with speculation heavily linking him with a move to England.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with a move, however, neither side are expected to make a serious approach this month.

The Napoli forward has scored eight goals in 18 games this season, an impressive follow-up tally after bagging a staggering 31 in 39 for the Italian giants last term as they won the Serie A title.

But while speculation continues to swirl, Osimhen has revealed that his close relationship with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis means that he's keen to help them to the Scudetto once again.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Osimhen said: "I am happy with the president. I have a good relationship with him. I cannot lie. He has been with me since I signed for the club in 2020.

"I have a good relationship with his family also and for me it is always important to make sure we have this good relationship, to make sure there is nothing wrong regardless of what has happened.

"So for me, ADL (Aurelio De Laurentiis) has been the kind of president who has been supportive to me outside the pitch and of course, I make sure I give my all and try to win the Scudetto for them.

"For me, it is always important to have this kind of relationship, to be happy with the owner of the club."

Asked if he wants to play in the Premier League in the future, Osimhen said: "Of course one day, definitely but for now, I have other plans in my career that I am looking forward to. So when the time comes, everyone knows."
