The Summit and Awards Night will be the largest gathering of Nigeria’s finest sports personalities both at home and in the diaspora since 1950.

The Nigeria Olympians Association (NOA), will on Thursday, July 13, 2023, congregate in Abuja for the second edition of the NOA Summit and Awards Ceremony.

The president of the Nigeria Olympians Association, Olumide Oyedeji, says the 2nd edition of this special event will hold at the prestigious Musa Shehu Yar’Adua Conference Centre, Abuja.

This August gathering starts with the red carpet by 5pm while the main show starts 6.30pm Nigerian time.

Oyedeji a former captain of Nigeria male basketball national team D'Tigers, who is also the 3rd Vice president of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), stated that, the theme of the NOA Summit is: ‘The Labour Of Our Heroes Past.’

He added that, the Summit and Awards Night will be the largest gathering of Nigeria’s finest sports personalities both at home and in the diaspora since 1950.

He further explained; “The Summit on July 13th 2023 is very important to us as heroes and heroines who have represented Nigeria at the Olympics since Nigeria started attending the Olympics, we are coming together for a common goal.”

Later in the day, some of the accomplished Olympians will be recognised during the Awards Night, for their contributions to the development of sports in Nigeria.

The President of World Olympians Association, Joel Bouzou (OLY), will be the Special Guest of Honour at the Summit. The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Sports, will also be in attendance, along with the President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, Engineer Habu Gumel, who is the Chief Host of the event.

The Father of the Day at the Summit and Award Night is His Royal Highness Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom.

Seasoned and multiple award winning journalist and presenter, Deji Omotoyinbo is expected to anchor the event that has the support of a number of heavyweight corporate bodies and local as well as International organisations like Air Peace, Adron Homes, Value Jet, Brila FM, UNFPA, Eagles 7 FM, World Olympians Association and FCT Administration of Nigeria.
