Mali 2 Vs 0 Nigeria: Nantes FC reacts as injury knocks Moses out of season

Super Eagles forward, Simon Moses has been confirmed to be out for the remainder of the season after picking up an injury while on international duty.

French Ligue 1 side, Nantes, confirmed that the 28-year-old suffered a fractured fibula and will not be able to participate in any game for the next three months.

During the game against the Eagles, Moses collided with the opposition’s goalkeeper in the 33rd minute of the encounter and had to be taken off the pitch, consequently resulting in Cyril Dessers replacing him.

The former KAA Gent player was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.

“Moses Simon was injured yesterday against Mali. Our Nigerian striker suffers from a broken fibula which means the end of the season,” the club said in a statement.

“FC Nantes is already keen to provide its full support to its attacker and wishes him a speedy recovery!”

With the injury, a fractured fibula, this means that Moses will now miss Nantes remaining matches of the season and Nigeria’s World Cup qualifiers against South Africa.
