Deontay Wilder talks about difference between him and Joshua

Former world boxing champion Deontay Wilder has identified one key difference between himself and rival Anthony Joshua ahead of their match-ups on the same card.

Although these two big-hitting heavyweights have not yet fought each other, there has long been animosity between them.

Both are former world champions who held belts at the same time for several years, but they never managed to sign for a unification fight with each blaming the other for the breakdown in negotiations.

On December 23 in Saudi Arabia, they will come closer than ever, fighting on the same huge card. Wilder is set to face Joseph Parker, and Joshua squares off with Otto Wallin.

Should both win, the WBC has said they could well be told to fight each other to sort out a mandatory challenger to the winner of the undisputed fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury on February 17.

Speaking on The Last Stand, Wilder was as confident as ever, claiming that ‘AJ’ wasn’t a. true champion because he was carefully moved through the ranks.

“With Joshua, I’ve said it many times before, it’s the difference between champions being born and being made. And Joshua was a made fighter.”

He went on to speculate about Joshua getting advantages on the way up that he never had.

“They bought things, they gave him things. ‘They sold out arenas’ – no, they didn’t sell out anything. They bought tickets and re-sold them. I know things. You bought all your tickets. I’m behind the scenes, I know how things work.”

“They’ve been pulling these strings for a long time. For me, this is a gladiator sport. You’re a warrior. Test yourself. See are you the best.”

Wilder claimed this week that no matter the outcome of Joshua’s fight with Wallin, he will fight him anyway.
