Black Galaxies of Ghana head coach, Annor Walker is confident his team will beat perennial rivals, Nigeria home and away in the 2023 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.

Ghana has failed to qualify for the last three editions of the CHAN.

The Black Galaxies spent one week in Austria to prepare for the game where they lost to Qatar in a friendly match.

Walker’s side saw off Benin Republic 4-0 on aggregate in the previous round.

The gaffer is confident they can scale through the final qualification hurdle and book a spot in Algeria 2023.

“We are playing Nigeria on Sunday and I must say we are ready for the game,” Walker told Asempa FM as quoted by Ghanasoccernet.com.

“It will be a tough game but we are prepared and I am confident that we will qualify for the CHAN tournament next year,” he added.

The CHAN is put together for players plying their trade in their country’s domestic leagues.

Meanwhile, Nigeria coach Salisu Yusuf on Friday unveiled a 22-man squad for the 2023 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against the Black Galaxies of Ghana.

Yusuf dropped 13 players from the initial 35 players invited to camp.

Notable among the players who made the trip are goalkeepers; Adewale Adeyinka and Ojo Olorunleke, Samson Gbadebo, Tope Olusesi, Chijoke Akuneto, and Ossy Martins.

The players and their officials departed Abuja for Accra for the game on Friday morning.

The first leg will take place at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday.
