Nigeria made history on Monday night in Marrakech, Morocco, by claiming both the Men's and Women's CAF Player of the Year Awards.

This marks the first time any country has achieved this feat in the history of the prestigious awards.

Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala rewrote the script, emerging as the undisputed King and Queen of African football, respectively.

Nigeria's success continued beyond the individual awards.

The Super Falcons were crowned the continent's best national women's team for the year, while Chiamaka Nnadozie, their talented goalkeeper, secured the Goalkeeper of the Year award.

The celebrations for Nigeria extended to the Women's Africa XI team, where three Super Falcons players, Michelle Alozie, Ohale Osinachi, and Asisat Oshoala, were recognized for their exceptional performances.

However, Chiamaka Nnadozie's inexplicable absence from the list, despite being named the continent's best goalkeeper, raised eyebrows.

Victor Osimhen stood as the sole Nigerian representative in the Men's Africa XI team.
